Message from Campus Principal, Term 1, Week 11
Dear SSIS parents,
It was great to meet so many of our SSIS community last Saturday. Besides the food, games, music and fun that all of us enjoyed, 62,000 RMB was raised through the sales of Lucky Draw tickets. Shanghai Healing Home is the beneficiary for this event. Congratulations to the IFB Organising Committee for a successful conduct of this annual get-together!
PSG is getting ready for Santa‘s Workshop which will be held on 7 & 8 December this year.
By 1 December, they are calling for:
- gently used books
- clean and washed toys
- gifts for kids and adults
Please drop off the donations into the boxes at the PSG Lounge. As Santa‘s Workshop get filled, these generous gifts and donations will bring smiles to the charities that they are sponsoring. Thank you for supporting another of our SSIS Community Drive.
We welcomed close to 140 players and 30 coaches to our school from 9 – 11 November. It was great to see all members of staff and student ambassadors working together to ensure that this big sporting event can run smoothly.
We are so proud of our boys and girls who took part in the recent Black Division ACAMIS Volleyballs games. It was to be three days of exhilarating wins and intense battles. Though at this point, we do not know the results, we have witnessed the growth of each individual player and the unity of our teams. Special thanks to our teacher coaches who have spent hours with our players and the all the teachers working behind the scenes to make this event such a success. We also cannot forget all the parents who turned up for the games and those who tirelessly support us in volunteering their time. THANK YOU!
Students should have brought home the new Family Cards and Pick-Up cards. Please refer to the new procedures when using the new cards. A gentle reminder: All old cards cannot be used from 22 November onwards.

Student of the Week:
LE Xin Alex Grade 10
Alex Le is like a hurricane: he comes into any classroom as a force to be reckoned with and leaves everyone inside it changed. Unlike a hurricane, though, everything Alex does is completely constructive.
As a student taking both IB History and Geography, he is the kind of pupil teachers value above all others: gracious, polite, and extremely motivated, but also enthusiastic enough to lead discussions and help others learn better by example. All his humanities teachers have watched Alex grow and improve over the course of the last few years and are very proud of the organized, meticulous, respectful, and exciting student he has become. Well done, Alex.
