Message from Campus Principal, Term 1, Week 14
Dear SSIS Parents,
Welcome to a brand new term. Preparations are underway for this Saturday’s Parent Teacher Conference. It is always heartwarming to see our corridors abuzz with students and their family. With strong school-family partnerships, our children will be geared for success.
Should you be unable to make PTC this Staurday, please email the respective subject teachers to arrange an alternative meeting time.

Visit to Partner Local School (7 December)
Our select group of Grade 11 and 12 students will be visiting Taishi School in Jiaxing Province. This school has 645 students from Preschool to Grade 8.
Our student volunteers are going to start sorting the contributions from the various divisions.
MH Pre-school: English and Chinese Story books
MH Primary: Greeting cards made during Art class
MH Senior: Mathematical set squares, book shelves
XH Pre-school: Biscuits & Food gifts
XH Primary: Stationery Sets
Our Senior School students will take off at 9 am on that day and spend their time interacting with their counterparts. Besides engaging in friendly games using the sports equipment we brought to them last year, they will also be having a hands-on arts and craft session with their peers. It is just wonderful to see our students being engaged with our wider community.
Student of the Week
TSIKHANOVICH Gleb G8 Pearl 1
The Student of the Week is TSIKHANOVICH Gleb. He is a very diligent student in the learning of the Chinese language. He’s new to SSIS and to the language. However, thanks to his hard work, he has become one of the best students in his Chinese class. It’s so amazing to see the great progress he has made in Chinese study only after 4 months. Not only does he put in great effort in class and submit quality homework on time, he also demands himself to do extra homework that is not required by his teacher. This exceptional diligence is the cornerstone of the immense progress he has made in such a short time. In addition, Gleb is also very enthusiastic in taking part in class activities. He’s an active participant in the recent G8 Chinese Singing Competition and spent much time and energy in preparing for the competition. Although the Chinese songs are not easy to sing for a beginner like Gleb, he was fearless in front of challenges and made extra efforts to memorize the lyrics beforehand. He also attempted to understand the meaning of his selected songs, which demonstrates his courage to constantly challenge himself for further improvement. He’s an excellent idol to mirror the core value of I4C at SSIS.
