Message from Campus Principal, Term 2, Week 5
Dear Senior School parents,
We are off to a busy start for 2018. Preparations are underway for the upcoming parent and student information sessions that will be held on Minhang campus. Please refer to more details below and mark these dates on your calendar!
IGCSE & IB Course Selection
On 20 January (Saturday), Senior School will host Grade 8 parents to a session where they will be introduced to the IGCSE Courses by our IGCSE Coordinator, Mr. Steven Gaynor at 10am. Following this will be a short Questions & Answers section for parents to enquire with Mr. Gaynor, administrators and other staff. Following this session, our IB DP Coordinator, Mr. Doruk Gurkan will speak to Grade 10 parents regarding the diploma programme and the course options available to their child at 11am. Parents can feel free to pose any questions to the staff, including our Head of Counselling and University Guidance, Mr. Mark Donagher. Light refreshments will be served at the Level 3 Conference Room where these sessions have been organised.
G6 to G7 Transition Meeting
On the subsequent, Grade 6 parents will get the opportunity to meet Senior School teachers and administrators, including our Pre-IGCSE Coordinator, Ms. Tara Brennan who will be there to welcome parents and the session. Letters to parents and invitations to students will be sent out and we look forward to meeting families who will be joining our Senior School family. Do register using this link.
Grade 6 students from Xuhui and Minhang will get to meet again on 30 January (Tuesday) since Sports Day where they will meet some of their teachers, experience mini-lessons and tour the Senior School Block, ending with lunch in the Merlion Cafe. An exciting line-up has been planned, including a welcome gift from the Home of the Sabres.

Student of the Week:
JAYARAM, Shayshanth Reddy G7 Amber 1
In grade 7, we have had quite a few new students in the past couple of months and this student of the week has really stood out as a welcoming face for these boys and girls. Shayshanth has been a wonderful role model for his peers in welcoming our new students and showing them the ropes here at SSIS. He is often seen in the hallways smiling and showing students around. It is great to see such positive, welcoming behaviour, especially with our new campaign “May the Care be with You”.
