Message from Campus Principal, Term 2, Week 6

Dear Senior School parents,
From Friday to Sunday, six of our students will be attending the CISSMUN conference at Concordia International School Pudong. CISSMUN is the single most prestigious conference in Shanghai and will challenge their diplomacy, public speaking skills and world views. We wish them and their teachers a productive session over the weekend.
Our ACAMIS Black Division Basketball teams had many challenging games and numerous close fights in the tournament that ends Friday in Hong Kong. They will bring back the full report after their playoffs and awards banquet and dinner celebration. Their valiant efforts and dedication make us so proud of each one of them. A big round of applause to our teams and their coaches!

Student of the Week:

ZHENG Xiangyu, Richard G9 Pearl

Richard is one of a small population of Grade 9 students taking all three IGCSE Science courses in this cohort. Already in these early stages, he is showing proficiency in Biology, Chemistry and Physics. Clearly, Richard takes an interest in the Sciences and his enthusiasm is shown through his in-class participation and his curiosity. In Chemistry for example, Richard is able to make connections between course content and real world applications. He can often be found in discussion with others as they work collaboratively to tackle challenging problems. In Biology, he asks very thoughtful, open-ended questions to probe further into the topic we are studying. Finally in Physics, he has been very dedicated, always showing an excellent record for completing homework and classwork. Richard has developed analytical skills and also knows how to apply Physics in different contexts to give solutions to problems. Richard is consistently pushing himself to improve in all aspects.  Keep up the great work!

Warm regards
