Message from Campus Principal, Term 2, Week 8

Dear Senior School parents,
We concluded a very successful Grade 6 to 7 transition for parents and students. Besides the opportunity to meet counterparts from Xuhui and Minhang campus, G6 students were treated to mini lessons so that they can imagine what future Senior School life will be like. Should parents have any questions, please feel free to email your queries to Ms. Tara Brennan, our Pre-IGCSE Coordinator (
When school was closed last Friday due to the poor road conditions, we are glad that the communication process was carried out effectively. However,  some form teachers experienced difficulty in trying to contact several parents because their contact information has not been updated on Parent Portal. We are seeking your help to update Parent Portal information so that should an emergency happen again, we will be able to contact you in a timely fashion.
Chinese New Year is fast approaching. You will have noticed the school decked out in traditional reds and all the festive decorations around school. Students during their Chinese Language classes have had the opportunity to practise their calligraphy, focusing on the Chinese characters such as 春 which means the season of Spring, 福 which symbolizes good fortune and other auspicious couplets. On February 9th, all students will take part in a CNY Carnival where they get to experience different games or activities surrounding the Chinese culture or traditions.
Sabres Saturday Basketball Development Program is back!
Grade 3-5 (8.30-10.00am) and

Grade 6-8 (10.00-11.30am) for SSIS Students

New this year we hope that we will be able to compete in a few friendly games with other basketball programs from the area. Our Coaching staff are experienced in the sport of basketball and look forward to sharing it with our students. Coaches Mr. Tony Rampton and Ms. Nicki Rampton both played at a very high level of competition. Student of the Week:
SEHGAL, Sanya G8 Pearl 1
Sanya Sehgal is a focused, diligent student. She always comes to class with a positive attitude, ready to learn, and she enjoys the learning process. Through her questioning and engagement in class, Sanya often helps her peers gain understanding.   She has the ability to read comprehensively, write effectively, and speak fluently when communicating her ideas. Sanya recently submitted a documentary video highlighting the climate pattern, El Niño, in Pacific South America.  She and her partner, Tanisha, were able to create an informative documentary that was also entertaining and even a bit humorous! Sanya is a respectful and responsible student in our learning community; we are fortunate to have her.
Warm regards,
