Message from the Principal T1W6
This week I will be traveling to Singapore for an IB Conference for Administrators and visiting three IB schools. This is an excellent opportunity to represent SSIS in the wider IB community and work with other experienced administrators, leaders and teachers. The goal for each school visit is to see how IB is taught in relation to Visible Learning, the IB learner profile in action, and compare student management systems. Highlights from this trip will be shared with the community in the next Newsletter.
To monitor your child’s progress you can access the Mid Term assessments on PowerSchool from the 19th October 2015. You should view the most recent assessment for each subject here. If you have any questions regarding their progress please contact the subject teacher.
Homework is an important part of life at SSIS. The purpose is twofold; reinforcing the work that is taught during the day as well as reviewing and completing assignments. Please contact the subject teacher for any homework concerns. Homework is a key component on the final End of Year report. This year we are using ones and zeros to indicate homework completion during the week. It is the student’s responsibility to address any resulting zeros.
